Description
The shoeshine stand in Grand Central Station, New York, NY - a tradition going back perhaps 100 years, when the famous train station was constructed. There has been a never-ending flow of commuters waiting to have their shoes made ready for another day of business, for a century, now.

Can't help but notice a classic touch in this scene ..it's the warm light on the gentleman's face & color, his relaxed look; and the softer, yellow sleeve on the man next to him. ..mindful of an atmosphere out of Vermeer!! (voted/fav)

Thank you, dear Rich ... I did see a kind of calm light in this picture, and yes, I did think of Vermeer, as well. I have a few pictures in this sort of light in my collection.
