Description
The New York City skyline can be beautiful and stark in its modernity; like blocks of color, I see these sentinel skyscrapers as "City-Blocks - Building Blocks," like a mid-century modern painting, something you might see on the set of "Mad Men." My Dad was an original Mad Man, working in the advertising industry from the late 1940s until the 2010s, and I recall visiting his office many times, literally on Madison Avenue. NY always looked majestic and bigger than life, to me, perhaps because I was a small child, or perhaps because of Dad's stories, all of which I remember today. If you enjoy these "City Blocks" images, please contact me through the email on this site, and I'll be happy to show you others in the series that are not here.

This delightful picture is featured on the Master page of the “PHENOMENAL CLUB” group, and may it be known, that the author is a full member of that exceptional group. Hearty congratulations to the great artist.

Dear Bill, I am so grateful to you for your amazing comments ... as a fellow artist, I am deeply appreciative of your observations, and the fact that you connect with my images. Emotion is central to my work. It's how I think. I can picture the very street that you mention, 66th & Madison, and agree that this is the view you would have! (And a vodka or two might make the view even better!:)

Miriam --as I said previously, your gallery amazes me. Your work is by far the truest representation of what New York City (Manhattan) is that I have ever seen; what the City "feels" like -- kudos to you! Like your dad in his Madison Ave. office, I would sit on my terrace (66st & Madison) taking in sites such as this. In this particular photo, after having a few vodkas, this is a true representation of what I would behold. L/F
